Laura returns to ClickerExpo for her 8th year as faculty. She will teach three hands-on labs: Deep Impact II: More Behaviors that Profoundly Change the Veterinary and Grooming Experience; Make the Transfer: Problem Solving Through Cue Transfer; and a new presentation, Smallest Success Point: Using Capturing and Management for Problem Solving. Laura will also participate in a panel discussion, Uncensored: Let's Talk Other Species—Insight from Outside the Canine Kingdom.

Laura Monaco Torelli and Eva Bertilsson joined forces to bring your husbandry training to the next level. Expand your knowledge, refine your skills, and deepen your understanding at a clinic-style summer camp where you will be immersed in best-practice positive reinforcement training for cooperative care. Dogs will be the focus animals, but you will work with learners of other species as well and the concepts are universal!

March 2018: Laura Monaco Torelli talked husbandry training with Hannah Branigan for Episode 51 of her podcast, Drinking From the Toilet. Writes Hannah: "This week Laura Monaco Torelli and I talk about husbandry in the dog training world, and it turns out it’s not ENTIRELY about teaching dogs to trim their own nails (though that could be part of it). During our conversation, we talked about exactly what 'husbandry' means, and how we can work it into our training routines without a whole lot of effort and time commitment, we also talked about how she gets her pet clients to buy in and participate in husbandry training solutions, and a few other little tips and tricks, like using behavioral momentum to make hard stuff easier and the training sessions more fun."
February 20, 2018: College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Laura returned to the U of I vet school to present an animal-training seminar for the veterinary behavior club.
We are lifelong learners as well as teachers and regularly attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to further our education. In February 2018, Laura Monaco Torelli attended a weeklong Contemporary Animal Management and Training workshop taught by Susan Friedman and Steve Martin and Steve's expert team at Natural Encounters, Inc.

The World Summit featured three days of presenters on the use of TAGteach in a variety of settings. Laura Monaco Torelli copresented with Kelly Ballantyne, DVM, on integrating TAGteach to increase animal-handling safety, decrease staff stress, and improve the patient and client experience in the veterinary setting.

Laura Monaco Torelli will speak alongside Drs. Ciribassi, Ballantyne, and Bennett at the second annual Chicago Veterinary Behavior Symposium, a day of lectures on puppy and kitten development, socialization, and behavior.
